Class 37 DVDs
Legacy of the class 37s
The class 37s have proved to be one of the most versatile and reliable classes that emerged from BR's decision to mass dieselise its locomotive fleet. This programme looks at the class's development to its final days of BR operation. We explore the class at work from the Highlands of Scotland to the Royal Duchy, and this DVD explores the rich variety of liveries that the class has worn, from BR green to BR rail blue, to Large Logo, Railfreight & DRS liveries. In the course of this DVD we explore both class 37/0, 37/4 & 37/5 variants, as well as the re-engined Mirrlees and Ruston class 37/9s, which were the testbed locomotives for the BRB's ill-fated class 38 project, the class 37 replacement. Also included is a rare cab ride in 37142, the first class 37 to work in Cornwall, as she trundles down the former china clay branch from Bodmin General to Boscarne Junction. As the throaty exhaust of an English Electric 12 cylinder unit exudes from these type 3s, this is a DVD that all enthusiasts will want to savour again & again! RUNNING TIME: 87 mins. PRICE: £19.99 + £3 P&P.
